Project Overview
Role : UX Designer
Being the founding UX designer of this startup, I was responsible for user research, ideation, wireframing, and cross-functional collaboration with other teams.
Case study highlights
This case study is going to highlight the main concept of the app and some major challenges that I played key role in solving.
Problem Statement
The basic envisioned app was operational. However, our beta users were not as engaged as anticipated. To enhance user retention and ensure that the users spend more time on the app without losing interest in the online radio feature we needed new strategies to enhance user engagement.
Goals
"how might we modify/add new features
so that the app gets more engaging and inclusive to a broader range of users?"

Design Process

Target Audience
Students
Undergrad students across South Indian Universities
Education background - Engineering/Medicine
Age : 15 - 25
Language proficiency : English, Telugu

Competitive Analysis
With the research gathered,
the next step was to integrate podcasts into the existing app.
We created an IA of this App to gain more of a technical understanding of how the system worked, this architecture highlighted a problem that we had already identified, the amount of backtracking the user had to do. When we looked at this user flow we believed that we would be able to make some positive changes.
After completing the research, we created a low-fidelity wireframe with all of the initial features. We tried to implement all the features in an organized manner.

Younify App
Younify is a dynamic campus media network designed for students to connect, create, and learn.
Acting as a social platform, it primarily focuses on audio content, including radio and podcasting. Younify empowers university students by facilitating the launch and operation of their own campus radio stations.
The user experience encompasses everything from setting up the physical radio station to content creation and consumption, with a strong emphasis on user-generated content (UGC) for podcasts.

UI
Design
At the beginning of UI design, we created a design guideline & stylesheet and tried to select all familiar elements of this project. With an easy experience, we tried to use modern visual language as far as possible.

Case Study Conclusion
Simplified Podcast Creation and Upload
We introduced a new feature allowing anyone to upload a podcast directly and start their podcasting journey immediately.
Offline Podcast Access
We enabled offline downloading of podcasts, ensuring users can access their favorite content even without an internet connection.
Podcast Trailers for Upcoming Content
We introduced podcast trailers to notify users about upcoming content, creating buzz and allowing creators to get early feedback.
